    Modern businesses have access to more data than ever before. And while this amount of data can feel like drinking from a fire hose, it can inform and power your revenue growth if leveraged correctly. 

    Organizing this data into different groups gives more robust insights, and combining the different groups gives a more complete picture of your business. For example, subscription metrics–which provide insights to help grow CLV–together with performance metrics can give a high-level performance overview of a subscription business.

    n this blog, we’ll look at the top three metrics from our performance metrics group and the impact each of those metrics can have on your business.

    Now let’s dig into the top three performance metrics. These metrics are conversion rate, Average Order Value (AOV), and net revenue. 

    Conversion Rate 
    The conversion rate illustrates the number of initial orders divided by the total number of sessions at the checkout stage. Knowing your conversion rate can provide insights that inform decisions–iterating the checkout process, adjusting marketing, etc.– that help grow your business and, ultimately, your revenue. 

    Net Revenue
    Net revenue is the total revenue brought in from sales in a set timeframe minus incentives, returns, etc. Net revenue helps demonstrate the financial stability of your business. 

    Average Order Value (AOV) 
    AOV, Average Order Value, tells you the total amount of each order on average. This metric is important because it provides insight into customer behavior and can inform marketing and sales strategies. 

    Tracking performance metrics, including conversion rate, net revenue, and AOV, along with subscription metrics, provides you with actionable insights to have a complete picture of the business and grow revenue.
