We’re back!
Thank you for all the positive feedback on our first episode since moving the podcast under the cleverbridge umbrella. We also had people reach out to us with guest submissions, which is awesome! Please keep them coming. We are working through them right now, and we're excited to keep up this momentum!
This month
We meet with Israel Greene, an old friend and ex-colleague. Since leaving cleverbridge, Israel has gone on to found Greene Consulting Group (GCG), a boutique consulting firm focused on diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, and leadership development. He and his team focus on a simple yet powerful mission, to help organizations move “beyond ticking the box” when it comes to race, diversity and inclusion.
In this episode, we reflect on the societal changes that have taken place over the last 18 months and to what degree they impact how organizations work and address the topic of diversity and inclusion. We raise questions around how these societal influences may - or may not - drive the change we want or expect. Heads up, Israel highlights that (unfortunately) many organizations still don’t prioritize or take diversity and inclusion seriously enough. Israel also points out how companies underestimate the impact this may have on their bottom line or profitability.
Lessons to be learned
Finally, Israel provides fascinating insight into the toolbox of techniques he uses to disarm difficult and sensitive situations, be it in a board room or within the wider organizational context, which we believe is something we can all benefit from. His top three tips for starting the conversation on diversity and inclusion in your organization are definitely worth hearing!
As you can tell, this is a topic that we are both extremely passionate about. While we may not be experts, we are proud to be connected with someone like Israel and wholeheartedly support his message of helping organizations move “beyond ticking the box.”
